Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Walker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love for animals and the ability to provide exceptional care while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our furry clients. This role involves walking dogs in various weather conditions, managing multiple pets, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Duties
- Walk dogs of various sizes and breeds, ensuring they receive adequate exercise and attention.
- Monitor the behaviour and health of each dog during walks, reporting any concerns to the owner.
- Maintain control of dogs at all times, ensuring their safety and the safety of others.
- Clean up after dogs during walks, adhering to local regulations regarding waste disposal.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding their dog's behaviour and needs.
- Provide basic animal care as required, including feeding and administering medication if necessary.
- Assist with heavy lifting when transporting equipment or supplies related to dog care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal care or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required (e.g., carrying dog supplies).
- Knowledge of veterinary care is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with pet owners.
- A genuine love for animals and a commitment to their wellbeing.
- Must be physically fit and able to walk for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- A valid driver's licence may be required depending on location and job specifics.
